Bluntly991 Archives I’m jealous of the toys of today, and Lego has managed to stoke that sentiment with its latest. The toy giant’s motorized DC Super Heroes Batmobile is part of the Lego's Powered Up line, and it's super cool.

The App-Controlled Lego Batmobile set will be landing on Aug. 1 for $99. And while it is only a 321-piece set, included in the box are the two twin motors and the battery pack.

Unlike Lego’s powered-up train set, you don’t build a controller out of Lego. The Batmobile will use Bluetooth to connect to an iOS or Android device, with a dedicated app (coming out when it launches). The app doesn't just provide basic controls -- you can also "code" in moves for the vehicle.

Basically there's some light STEM functionality that uses images for creating your moves, as opposed to lines of code. While some of this will be included at launch, Lego has said that much of it will arrive in future updates. Kids of all ages should be able to set speed, customize tricks, and really let their imagination run wild.

I am pretty eager to see how Lego will continue to expand the Powered Up line with more sets that tie into franchises -- flying sets probably won't come for a while, but maybe an Imperial Walker that actually walks? Even if Lego doesn't build such a set, with these kinds of tools, a bit of coding, and lots of bricks, anything should be possible.
